7/26/2023 0 Comments Keep an eye out for peyote plants![]() People like you should thank people like me who have through time cultivated/domesticated and will continue to cultivate the cacti for the spiritual purpose, so that you have the opportunity to grow them any way for whatever reason you like. I believe they aren't illegal for any good reason actually - mainly because the gooberment would like to, to some degree, keep people from experimenting with their own consciousness and put them into jail for trying - maybe for ulterior motives? No, they aren't illegal because of people who want to consume cactus. Then after they’re big enough on the pere graft, they will get grafted onto San Pedro. I plan on grafting the seedlings onto Pereskiopsis this weekend hopefully, light have to wait until next since I’ll have to get the pere cuttings rooted when they get here later this week. The rest will be grafted, and propagated with, and a few of the grafted ones will be harvested in 5-8 years, but only a few and mainly to see alkaloid content of grafted plants compared to non grafted. Seeds collected from them, and also pollinate them with various loph species. I plan to pick 5-10 seedlings next year to never be touched, possibly it’s pups will be propagated but that’s it. I am currently growing some from seed, and plan to graft a a bunch of the seedlings this weekend. There may be some mass growers/farmers out there, Thailand there especially is, but for the most part people grow them for the reasons I stated. peyote growers are usually growing for the love of the plant, preservation of the species, and collection purposes. That’s why everyone who wants to trip on cactus grow San Pedro, Bridgesii, etc. That takes roughly 10-15 years to be able to eat it and have a trip. These are not ready to eat yet, not big enough and not enough time to develop alkaloids. r/sanpedrocactus/ < Go here for San Pedro and related IDs. San Pedro growing related topics are OK, please do not report them unless they clearly violate the two rules above. No posts regarding the entheogenic or spiritual uses of cacti, check out /r/druggardening if you want to discuss such things. No San Pedro ID requests, too often they result in poaching or stealing of cacti.Check the wiki and use the search before asking about care.Deliberately posting about non-cacti will result in a warning, a temporary 60 day ban for 2x offenders, and a perma-ban for 3x offenders. Many people are more than willing to give away cuttings. Additionally, if a plant is growing on someone's property, consider asking the owner about it.
